Charlize Theron Dips Into Zwart Water

Looking to spread her genre wings, Charlize Theron is spearheading the development of horror thriller remake Zwart Water at Summit, with Scott Derrickson set to co-write and direct.

Zwart Water (Black Water), also known as Two Eyes Staring, originated in the Netherlands. Directed by Elbert Van Strien, it follows a young girl who makes the disturbing discovery that her new friend and playmate is actually A) her mother’s dead twin and B) really rather dangerous. Theron is looking to play the mother, a woman who isn’t exactly sane herself.

The actress picked up the remake rights to the movie last year and has been busy setting things in motion. She approached Derrickson and The Exorcism Of Emily Rose co-writer Paul Boardman about crafting the script and directing and now they’re looking to get it made next year.

Derrickson is currently at work on another Summit film, Sinister, a found footage horror starring Ethan Hawke and Vincent D’Onofrio.Read more at Empire Online

Kristen Stewart reveals which ‘Twilight’ character she thinks is best

HollywoodNews.com: Kristen Stewart is wrapping up her time with “Twilight’ as the final films are released, but now she is opening up about which character she thinks is the best in the series.

Stewart revealed that her own character of Bella is definitely at the top of the list, states Hollyscoop. “I sound so lame, but vampire Bella really is my favorite character – she’s very representative of a matriarch,” Stewart commented.

And while there are a number of things she loves about Bella in the end, there is one that really gets her: “I think it’s nice to see her finally get what she wants. That’s probably the best thing, even if it sounds simple and indulgent, which is why the f-cking thing is criticized all the time. It’s nice to see people be happy.”Read more

Bullock Having Trouble With The Curve?

We reported last week on Clint Eastwood looking to put the Beyonce pregnancy delay on A Star is Born to good, if unexpected use by agreeing to star for the first time in years in a film he isn’t directing. Now it looks like he might have a co-star for Trouble with the Curve, as Sandra Bullock is apparently in talks to sign on.

Curve, which is being planned as the directorial debut of Clint’s regular producing partner/ assistant director Robert Lorenz (hence why the actor is even considering the idea), will star Eastwood as a baseball scout nearing the end of his career who also happens to be battling the slow encroachment of blindness.

To that end, he decides to take his daughter on his latest trip to Atlanta, where he’s going to see a likely future star player. According to Twitch, Bullock is Eastwood and Lorenz’ top choice to play that role, which would mean more solid drama work for her. She’s been on a run of those since scoring an Oscar for The Blind Side – Bullock has Stephen Daldry’s Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close up for release next, followed by Alfonso Cuaron’s Gravity.

There’s no word on Curve might get started shooting, but Eastwood and Lorenz already have a script in hand from Randy Brown.(Empire Online)

Gloria Estefan: 'I'll never do a big tour again'

Gloria Estefan has insisted that she will never embark on a world tour again.

The 'Wepa' singer confessed that she feels "too old" for the demands of an international concert tour and wants to maintain a more relaxed schedule following the recent release of her 11th studio LP, Little Miss Havana.

"I'm not going to do those big tours again. I used to go all over and everybody thought I was retiring in 2004 when I said I wasn't going to do any more world tours," Estefan explained in a new interview with Parade.

"I told [husband] Emilio when I was in my 20s that I was going to work really hard so that one day I didn't have to work that hard. I wanted to do it before I was too old to enjoy it. I spent 15 years on the road between touring and recording and I never saw anything. I want to enjoy life."

Discussing the sexier look and sound of Little Miss Havana, the 54-year-old said that she felt now was the time to explore that aspect of her personality as she is finally "comfortable in [her] own skin".

"It's fun for me. Everything ended up with a lot of double entendres, but Cubans, we use that a lot. It's part of our culture and the music was sexy, so it just all led in that direction. I'm very comfortable in my own skin now," she said.

"I started just being myself more and more. For women, this happens as you get older. I loved my 40s - I thought they were fantastic. And I'm loving my 50s. I'm going to love everything because you're either older or dead!" Read more

All you need is love, Beatle proves as he ties knot again

Paul McCartney made sure he got Nancy Shevell into his life with an intimate wedding on what would have been Lennon's 71st birthday.

THE first time Paul McCartney married at Marylebone Registry Office, the place was mobbed by fans distraught that the last bachelor Beatle was off the market.

Forty-two years later, McCartney returned to the same venue to make Nancy Shevell, an American heiress, his third wife. There were no sobbing girls collapsing into the arms of policemen as when he wed Linda Eastman in 1969, although fans from as far afield as Japan turned out for the occasion.

It was also far from rock'n'roll. McCartney, 69, and Ms Shevell, 51, visited the gym a few hours before the wedding on Sunday, and returned for an evening reception in their back garden. ''I feel absolutely wonderful,'' McCartney said as he hugged his new bride. ''I feel terrific. I feel married.'' Read more at Smh

It is not known how the weapons ended up on the set of the film.

Natalie Bassingthwaighte: 'I hate being away from my daughter'

Natalie Bassingthwaighte has revealed that she suffers from separation anxiety when she is away from her daughter.

The X Factor Australia judge, who welcomed baby Harper into the world with partner Cameron McGlinchey 13 months ago, is currently travelling around Australia to launch her comeback single 'All We Have' and has had to leave her little girl at home with McGlinchey.

Bassingthwaighte told the Herald Sun: "She's awesome and [motherhood is] just the best thing ever. I came down last night and I've been missing her all morning, but my fiancé is sending me photos and videos, so that helps."

She also revealed that she is happy to be back at work again, saying: "I always tend to multi-task and have a million things on at once, so it's something I'm still learning to work on. But it's nice to come back with something fresh and different for me.

"With the vocal, I got into it so much that it reminded me of my old [Rogue Traders] days, when I was in the studio and just being a complete idiot and it was such a blast recording it."

Bassingthwaighte has said that she is certain that The X Factor will "keep going" next year "because it's been such a success", adding: "You just never know with these things if they'll ask you back, but it hasn't even entered my mind yet. We've still got six weeks to go. It's a nice crazy bunch of people. It's a good balance."

The former Neighbours actress recently revealed that she almost quit the music industry after having Harper.
