Robert Knepper Signs On To R.I.P.D.

Though he may still be most recognisable as scheming inmate T-Bag on Prison Break, Robert Knepper has enjoyed a healthy career on both big and small screens, cropping up in the likes of Good Night, And Good Luck. Now he’s crossing over to the other side to play a wayward spirit in R.I.P.D.
Red director Robert Schwentke is busy directing the adaptation of the Dark Horse comic, which finds Ryan Reynolds as a cop who is slain in the line of duty. But his work isn’t over – he’s recruited to work for the Rest In Peace Department, a police force that is dedicated to chasing down the ghosts who refuse to depart the world.
Jeff Bridges is Reynolds’ grouchy veteran partner, while Mary-Louise Parker will be their boss. And Kevin Bacon’s on as a villain.
There’s no word on exactly what role Knepper will be taking, though he’s definitely a “deado,” one of the phantoms who decides that they’d really rather stick around and bother the living.
R.I.P.D. is filming right now in Boston and will arrive some time in 2013.
