Kidman's Film Scrapped After Weisz's Exit

Nicole Kidman's new film the Danish Girl has been shelved following the departure of actress Rachel Weisz, according to a U.K. report.

The movie was due to star Kidman as Lili Elbe, the first person in the world to undergo a sex change, and Gwyneth Paltrow was initially signed up as the lead character's wife.

Paltrow pulled out, as did her replacement Charlize Theron, and the project, backed by Kidman's Blossom Films company, was due to move forward with Weisz in the role.

Nicole is still determined tomake this film, so she's gone back to the drawing board

Filming was due to begin in Germany last month (Sep11), but the movie has now reportedly been put on hold following the departure of Weisz and director Lasse Hallstrom.

A source tells the Mail on Sunday, "Nicole initially approached GwynethPaltrow to play the artist's wife and fellow artist Gerda Gottlieb, but she was too busy. Charlize Theron then took the role but had to pull out because of scheduling conflicts. "Rachel Weisz signed up last year but now she's pulled out and the whole production has been thrown into disarray.

Nicole is still determined tomake this film, so she's gone back to the drawing board".

Trespass Set Was Like a Hospital Ward As Cage And Kidman Got Intense

Moviemaker Joel Schumacher was glad to have a military medic on the set of his new film Trespass because his "intense" stars were always getting injured.

The director reveals Cam Gigandet, Nicolas Cage and Nicole Kidman were left battered and bruised following the film's most dramatic and violent scenes - and he was glad there was someone nearby who could stitch them up.

Schumacher tells Wenn, "I was gonna put a card at the end of the movie saying, 'No animals were hurt making this movie but every actor in it was!' "Nic (Cage) got a very mild concussion when Ben (Mendelsohn) slammed him on the floor in one scene at the beginning and Ben cut his eye open in another scene.

Nicole was just black, blue and purple (bruised).

And it was Kidman, who plays the victim of Gigandet and Mendelsohn's violent intruders in the film, who was the one calling for her male co-stars to treat her rough

Cam smashed this subzero refrigerator so hard in frustration he ripped the top ofhis hand off.
