All you need is love, Beatle proves as he ties knot again

Paul McCartney made sure he got Nancy Shevell into his life with an intimate wedding on what would have been Lennon's 71st birthday.

THE first time Paul McCartney married at Marylebone Registry Office, the place was mobbed by fans distraught that the last bachelor Beatle was off the market.

Forty-two years later, McCartney returned to the same venue to make Nancy Shevell, an American heiress, his third wife. There were no sobbing girls collapsing into the arms of policemen as when he wed Linda Eastman in 1969, although fans from as far afield as Japan turned out for the occasion.

It was also far from rock'n'roll. McCartney, 69, and Ms Shevell, 51, visited the gym a few hours before the wedding on Sunday, and returned for an evening reception in their back garden.
